New 2011 Tax Credit
Up to $500 Back in 2011
As 2010 came to an end, so did the $1500 tax credit that was offered for qualified Window, Door, Roof, and Insulation products; however, homeowners that did not have any qualified work complete in previous years are still eligible for $500 cash back through the Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization and Job Creation Act (H.R. 483) that was signed into law on 12/17/2010.
Homeowners are now eligible for a federal energy tax credit up to 10% of the cost of the product (up to $500 for taxable year 2010).* Please visit www.energystar/taxcredit for more information.
The Details
- Tax credit is for the cost of product only and does not include installations costs.
- Improvements must be done on an existing home and principle residence to qualify.
- Tax credit expires December 31, 2011
- Tax credit is 10% of the amount paid for the product up to a maximum of $500 combined.
- Qualified Window improvements capped at $200
Claiming the Credit
To receive the tax credit, the valid 2011 IRS form 5695 will need to be filled out with the purchase price of materials only. (This amount will be outline on your Opal Enterprises purchase receipt)
You will need to keep, for your records:
- A copy of the purchase receipt provided by Opal Enterprises, which specifies the qualified amounts.
- The respective manufacture’s certification statement
